Querida familias,
It has been a wonderful week at Dalhousie!
Grade 1–3 Swimming
Our Grade 1–3 students will participate in the Swim to Survive program with the City of Calgary from October 26–29, 2026.
We are looking for volunteers to help in both the boys’ and girls’ change rooms. In particular, we are looking for male volunteers to help during this week.
Traffic Safety
Keeping the safety of our students and families in mind, please remember to use the crosswalks close to the school and avoid jaywalking.
Drivers, please respect our neighbours’ properties by not blocking driveways or garages when parking.
As many of you are aware, Calgary Police Service officers were present during drop-off on Thursday morning to enforce traffic laws around our school. Please keep the following reminders in mind:
- Hug and Go Zone: This zone is intended for quick student drop-offs. Drivers should not park their vehicles or get out of their vehicles.
- No Idling Zone: Please turn off your vehicle rather than leaving it idling.
- Bus Zone: This area is reserved for buses only.
- Neighbourhood Parking: Please avoid blocking driveways, garages or other access points.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in keeping our school community safe.
Terry Fox Donations
A big thank-you to all the families and students who donated to our Terry Fox Foundation fundraiser!
Together, our community raised an incredible $9,738, exceeding our school goal of $6,300.
Thank you for your generous donations and support!
Lunchroom and Field Trip Fees
Registration for noon supervision is open. If your student stays at school for lunch, please register through the MyCBE / CBE Student Information System portal.
All school-based fees will also be posted in this portal as events take place. Please check your account regularly and pay outstanding fees in a timely manner.
Change of Plans and Busing
We understand that plans change and there may be times when you need to pick up your student instead of having them take the bus.
Please email the school at dalhousie@cbe.ab.ca to let us know of any changes.
If you need to make a change after the following times, please call the main office:
- Monday–Thursday: After 1:00 PM
- Friday: After 11:00 AM
The school email inbox is checked several times throughout the day, but a phone call will help ensure that your message is received in time.
School Absences
Please remember to report your student’s absence by calling the attendance line:
403-777-6030, Ext. 1
Reporting absences helps us complete daily attendance and is also important for student safety in the event of an emergency.
As a gentle reminder, please keep your children home if they are not feeling well.
