Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year

Get ready for the new year with these key dates and times, school supply lists, and other information.

First Day of Classes

We look forward to welcoming all students and families back to Dalhousie School for the 2026–2027 school year! The school office will reopen on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, and we look forward to seeing everyone on our first day of school, Monday, August 31, 2026.

The first day of school for Grades 1–6 is Monday, August 31, 2026. Students will follow the regular school schedule from 9:15 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. Teachers will meet students and families on the tarmac behind the school before accompanying students into the building. A Welcome Back email will be sent to all families during the week of August 24 with your child's teacher assignment and important information about the first day of school.

Our class lists process was done with great care and consideration by our teachers to best meet our students social and learning needs. Unfortunately, we can’t accept requests for teacher-specific placements for any grade, nor do we accept peer requests.

Kindergarten | Staggered Entry

To help our new students transition smoothly into Kindergarten, we will begin the school year with a staggered entry schedule. Students will attend in smaller groups during the first three days of school, allowing teachers to build connections and support students as they become familiar with their new environment.

Official class placements and assigned teachers for the remainder of the school year will be finalized and communicated to families on September 2. Our regular Kindergarten schedule will begin on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
