Queridas familias!
We are excited to share that our second week of school is off to a wonderful start! Students are quickly settling into their routines, and classrooms are already buzzing with learning and engagement. As you plan ahead for your child for the school year, we encourage you to visit our school website regularly for updates and check our school calendar for upcoming events and important dates. All field trips and special events at Dalhousie are listed there, and if you notice anything missing, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Next week, we are looking forward to our Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, Sept. 18. This evening is not a drop-in event, but instead will be organized into four bookable blocks between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., each lasting 20 minutes. Please note that this is not a parent-teacher interview, but rather an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, learn about classroom routines and expectations, explore communication methods, and hear more about the program for your student’s grade.
Have a great weekend!

Dismissal & Drop-Off Reminder
We kindly ask parents to remain along the edge of the soccer field at pick-up time at the East doors. This makes it much easier for teachers, students, and parents to make eye contact during dismissal. When families gather too close to the school doors at the end of the day, it can be difficult for teachers and parents to see each other, which slows down the pickup process.
The same applies at the front of the school, both at the end of the day and in the morning at drop-off. As classes are making their way into the building, having parents gather near the doors or accompany their child with the class can slow down our entry to the building.
We kindly ask that parents remain in the parking area or at the edge of our field during these times after dropping off their child. Thank you for your understanding and support in helping the arrival and dismissal run smoothly and safely for everyone.

Terry Fox Run
The Dalhousie School Terry Fox Run will take place on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Our run begins at 11:00 am for our AM kindergarten and for the rest of the school. The PM kindergarten students will have their run at 2:00 pm on the same day. Parents are welcome to attend.
Last year, Dalhousie school raised an incredible $8672, ranking 12th in Alberta for the total funds raised by an elementary school. As of today, we are already at $600 collected. If students bring money (Toonies) to school, tax receipts won’t be produced, only through online donations. Money will be collected until September 30.
Our goal for this year is $9000. Together we can FINISH IT!
