Buenas Tardes Dalhousie Familias
Today, our students and staff participated in the Remembrance Day Assembly in the gym. It was very powerful. Remembrance Day is an important event each year at our school as we gather to remember those who sacrificed for peace and freedom. All classes contributed by making beautiful wreaths and providing beautiful artwork posted on our gym walls. We had the chance to have Acting Sub Lieutenant Adrianna Lemieux as a guest speaker to address our students and to remind them of the importance of November 11 for us Canadians. She was exceptionally impressed by our students and by the quality of our celebration.
Many thanks to everyone involved today. Thanks to our grade 3 teachers who prepared the students for the reading of the poem in Flanders Field by John McCrae, and a special thank-you to Sra. Pineda-Preece our Assistant Principal for planning a memorable assembly. Many thanks also to our music teacher Srta. Oviedo for her music and preparing our students.
We wish you all a restful fall break! See you back on Thursday, November 14.
SPB Grade 5 Visit
Our grade 5 students have been invited to tour Senator Patrick Burns (SPB) School on Tuesday, November 26. The bus will depart at 9:15 a.m. and return by 11:30 a.m. This visit is the first of two planned visits to SPB for our students. The next visit will be towards the end of May 2025.
Each year, our grade 5 students, along with their teachers, have the opportunity to tour their future Spanish Bilingual school, where they will attend from grades 6 through 9. It’s an opportunity to see the school before attending the Senator Patrick Burns’ Open House on February 14, 2025.
