Buenas Tardes Dalhousie!
Already the month of May, and another great week at Escuela Dalhousie. Thank you to all the parents who attended this month’s School Council and Parent Society meetings online or in person. We were pleased to welcome for the first time our Trustee Laura Hack to talk to our parents about her role with the CBE, and answer our parents’ questions.
We hope you enjoy the beautiful weather with your families. We’re looking forward to seeing all our grade 5 families and students at ¡Que Pasa! next Tuesday at the Jubilee Auditorium.
Volunteer Tea
Dalhousie is very fortunate to have a strong volunteer force, and we love showing appreciation. Please mark your calendar for our Annual Volunteer Tea that will take place on Friday, May 23 at 11 AM.
More information to come in May. If you have been part of our incredible volunteer group this school year and can join us for tea, we want you to RSVP using this link. Please RSVP by May 16.
Mental Health Awareness Week – May 5–11
On Wednesday, May 7 we will be having our spirit day in support of “Hats on! For mental health day”. Everyone is invited to wear their favorite hat to raise awareness of the importance of good mental health.
Alien In-line Skating Residency
Our Alien In-Line Skating residency is just around the corner. They will be at our school starting from May 12- June 12, 2025. Alien In-Line strictly requires ALL students to wear a certified helmet at ALL times while on skates.
They provide certified helmets for all students, and you are welcome to bring your own helmet if you wish. Bike, skateboard, and hockey helmets are acceptable. Football, BMX, ski/ snowboard, or other types of helmets are NOT acceptable.
Please make sure that the Acknowledgement of Risk sent home on Thursday May 1 is returned to your child’s classroom teacher before their first lesson.
