¡Hola Dalhousie Families!
We had such a fantastic first week of school at Dalhousie! The energy was high, partly because of our amazing new playground, and everyone seemed excited to dive into a new year with their new friends and teachers. So far the transition into a new grade felt smooth, and it seems like this year is off to an wonderful start. We are very impressed with our new Kindergarten students who are getting into the school routine very well.

Our school calendar is the best way to know what is coming up for your students monthly. Please check on a regular basis for up-to-date information.
Davison Apple Orchard Fundraiser is Back
Davison Orchards apples are a great healthy snack grown in an environmentally sustainable way. By ordering these delicious, healthy, and tasty apples for your family, neighbours and friends, you’ll be helping provide our Dalhousie Parent Society to raise extra funds to support learning activities, field trips and school initiatives. Forms and information was sent out with your students. You can find more information on our website.

Online Forms
The CBE sent an important email this week to all parents and guardians regarding the completion, review and update of the demographic information, citizen information and annual authorization for 2024-2025. To review the different forms and demographic information for your student, you must use SchoolEngage on MyCBE account. This is the same account that you use to pay fees, view academic information, book school conferences, etc.

Lunchtime – Fun Lunch
Make sure to look at our Lunchtime section on our website to find out about Fun Lunches, Lunch Supervision and Allergies. Once again, the Dalhousie School Council and Parents Society are excited to bring back fun lunches this year! See the schedule for the upcoming months.
End of the day School Pick-Up
When waiting to pick up your student at the end of the day at the East doors, for the safety of our students, we ask that you wait at the edge of the compound. Teachers will bring out the classes and will begin to dismiss students once teachers have visual contact with the adult.
School Council and Parent Society
Our First Meeting has been move to September 19, 2024 at 6:30 PM. The session will be in-person and also via Microsoft Team. To learn about our teams, their mission and the upcoming meetings, check our School Council and Parent Society pages.
Parking Zone on Dallyn Street
Please do not leave your vehicle unattended in the Drop-Off Hug-and-Go zone. We need all the space along our school to park all 6 buses. Calgary Parking Authority will be patrolling again next week. Also, please do not cross the street and walk between the parked buses. Dallyn Street gets congested and for the safety of our students and families, we hope for your collaboration in respecting these expectations.
Spanish for Parents (Fall 2024)
Chinook Learning will be offering Spanish for Parents – Level 1 in the fall.

Date: Tuesdays, October 8, 15, 22, 29 & November 5, 19, 26 & December 3
