La semana del 5 de febrero al 9 de febrero 2024 | Yearbook Contest, Kindness Month, Weather Changes

¡Buenas tardes familias de Dalhousie!

¿Qué pasa en la escuela de Dalhousie la próxima semana?

Yearbook Contest

Dalhousie is very excited to announce the launch of this year’s yearbook cover design contest. All Dalhousie students are invited to create their own drawing to be entered for a chance to be the cover of our yearbook. This year the theme is Celebrating Spanish. Your child's picture can reflect how they views themselves as a bilingual student, benefits of learning and studying Spanish, specific Spanish cultural ideas or what their future could hold with their bilingual abilities.

Please use letter sized white paper (8.5 X 11) to draw and colour your picture. The picture needs to include our school’s name (Dalhousie), it can also include our school motto -Take care of yourself, Take care of each other, Take care of our school - Cuida de ti mismo, cuidense unos a otros, cuida de tu escuela.  On the back of your paper, please ensure that the student's name, teacher and grade are included.  Any questions can be directed to your child's teacher. Also, your child's teacher can support them to use correct Spanish grammar and spelling.  The submission deadline is February 29, 2024. It can be submitted to your child’s teacher. Thank you for supporting your child in their creativity and imagination.

We will be announcing the winner of the contest by March 13, 2024.

Kindness Month at Dalhousie

As we enter the month of February, the Dalhousie school community will be turning our attention to the theme of Kindness. Teachers in their grade teams will be working on lessons that focus on kindness, compassion and empathy with each grade group choosing a kindness activity to share with the school community. For Valentine’s Day, each class will create their own craft to share with a pre-selected class in keeping with the theme of kindness and inclusion. If students wish to bring their own Valentine cards for their classmates, teachers will provide time during the day for the exchange. Please remember to not send chocolate or candies due to allergies. If you have specific questions, please contact your student’s teacher directly.
