Buenas Tardes Dalhousie Familias!
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents and students who attended Dalhousie School’s Family Fiesta last night! We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and it was truly wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate.
A special shoutout to our incredible volunteers and the Parent Society and School Council. We are so grateful for all you do. We hope the students had a blast dancing, enjoying the delicious food trucks, indulging in cotton candy, and taking part in all the fun activities planned for them, their families, and friends.
And to quote some of our students: “That was awesome!!!”
See you all next year!
Challenge Day-Everything but a Backpack Day
Our last challenge day of year will be an opportunity for our students to be creative. Students are invited to bring their belongings for the day using anything but a backpack. The alternative for the backpack should be school-appropriate, safe, and can be easily carried/controlled by the students.
Wow to Woah Presentation
We are excited to announce that TELUS Spark will be delivering a schoolwide science presentation on Friday, June 13 at 12:00 PM. This engaging, explosive, and seriously cool event is sure to spark curiosity and excitement in our students!
We would love to invite our Monday/Wednesday Kindergarten students to join us for this special event. As our teachers will be supervising the Tuesday/Thursday Kindergarten group that day, Monday/Wednesday Kinder students must be accompanied by an adult to attend.
This exciting opportunity is made possible thanks to the incredible success of our Read-a-Thon.
Sports Day
As we enter June, and the weather changes, we are starting to plan our annual Sports Day. Weather permitting, this exciting event will take place on Wednesday, June 25. We will need 40 amazing volunteers to help us run the events.

Dalhousie Garden Help Needed!!
The Dalhousie School Council gardening team is looking for daily volunteers over the summer months to assist with watering of our plants. There has been considerable time invested in the planning of this project, and we cannot keep our plants alive over the summer without you! Friends, grandparents, and neighbours also very much encouraged to participate. Even if just one day, many hands will be essential for these plants to endure our beautiful Calgary summers.
Our School Council chair, Heather Haberli, will be ensuring all necessary supplies are made available to our gardening team. A brief description of the details for the process will be shared with all volunteers. The process may take up to 2 hours on hotter days, and no time at all on rainy days. Heather will share her contact information for all urgent needs to ensure support for any volunteers.
Please help us keep this soon-to-be beautiful space growing!
