Pink Shirt Day

In 2007, David Shepherd, Travis Price and their friends organized a high-school protest to wear pink in sympathy and support of a Grade 9 boy who was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. This act of kindness inspired others and Pink Shirt Day has grown into worldwide participation. Pink Shirt Day now is recognized annually on the last Wednesday of February every year. 

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, wear a pink shirt to help spread kindness and a sense of belonging!

Movement Unit in Gym

From February 24 – March 14, 2025, students will be participating in a movement/Mission Impossible unit in physical education. Within all physical education units, students have opportunities to develop their skill level, share their accomplishments, and experience the satisfaction of teamwork in a safe and non-threatening atmosphere. For students to stay safe and have an enhanced learning experience, we ask that students follow the expectations listed below for the start of the unit. Techers will share additional expectations throughout the unit.  

Student Expectations  

• No jewelry, loose clothing (inc. Hoodies), skirts or dresses should be worn during the unit 
• Bare feet or gymnastics slippers can be worn on feet 
• All long hair must be tied back or up 
• Children will only do what they are comfortable doing. 
• Although some students have had private gymnastics training, no aerial stunts such as dive rolls, somersaults, flips, head springs or handsprings are allowed as these do not fit into the curriculum.   

Student safety is of the utmost importance at Dalhousie. Please review these expectations with your child.

Garden Project

In our 2024-25 School Council meetings it has been identified that connection to our school and enhancing the indoor and outdoor aesthetic may enhance student well-being and promote spaces which thrive! Upcoming Fundraisers

Parent Society has been hard at work behind the scenes to bring some exciting fundraisers and events for the rest of this school year, including popcorn, Spring flowers and rain barrels.
