Queridas familias,
This week, we wrapped up our two-week dance residency with Sound Kreations. Sr. Alexis, our instructor, provided each class with instruction in afrobeats and Latin combo style dances. Our students really enjoyed the choreography and upbeat music. Thank you to our Parent Society for funding this amazing opportunity for our students!
On Wednesday, Dec 3, we proudly welcomed a delegation of education officials from the Spanish Embassy and the Calgary Board of Education for a special visit to observe our Spanish Bilingual Program in action at Dalhousie School. The visiting dignitaries included Carlos Berrozpe Peralta, Education Attaché of Spain in Canada, María Martín Gutiérrez, Labour, Migration and Social Security Attaché, along with Martine Sawatzky, Area 2 Director, and Mike Nelson, Superintendent of School Improvement at the CBE.
A special thank you goes to Leah S. and Dominik C. from Grade 6, who opened the visit by delivering the land acknowledgement in Spanish and sharing the wonderful things that make Dalhousie School such a special place. The group toured several learning spaces, including the gym for a Dance Residency session, the Music Room, the Learning Commons, and a variety of Spanish Bilingual classrooms from Kindergarten through Grade 6.
Throughout the walkthrough, students and teachers showcased engaging bilingual learning experiences, providing visitors with a meaningful look at the vibrant teaching and learning occurring across our school. Our visitors were very impressed by our students and teachers, and the quality and the level of Spanish being used in the classroom.
¡Que tengas un excelente fin de semana!
Sebastien Fournier,
Principal
School Development Plan
Each year, our school creates a development plan, or SDO, using input from staff, students and parents, along with data from report cards, tests, and various surveys. This plan highlights specific areas for growth and improvement, rather than capturing all the work happening in the school.

School Improvement Results Report
Our school also prepares a results plan that reflects the previous school year. The SIRR highlights student achievement and progress toward the goals set by the CBE and Alberta Education, showcases key accomplishments from our school development plan, and provides a general overview of our school.
