Buenas tardes familias,

We are excited to say that the construction of our new Gaga Ball pits and 3-point basketball hoops has now been completed! These additions were made possible through the continued support of our Parent Society and school fundraising initiatives. ¡Muchas Gracias!

The fencing around the construction area will be removed next Monday, and students will soon be able to enjoy these new play spaces. We know these additions will provide wonderful opportunities for active play, connection, and community building for our students.

To help improve bike storage, increase safety, and create more space in our compounds for student games and activities, most bike racks have now been moved to the front of the school on the west side near the parking lot. One bike rack will remain at the back of the school.

We encourage families to use the west-side bike racks whenever possible, as students do not have access to this area during recess. This will help reduce issues related to students playing with or touching bikes while they are locked on the racks. Students are also reminded to always lock their bikes securely and walk their bikes while on school property.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Kindergarten Orientation May 28 (6:30 PM to 8:00 PM)

We look forward to welcoming our future Kindergarten families to Dalhousie School later this month. During this session, families will learn more about our Spanish Bilingual Program, school routines, staggered entry, and ways to support students at home. More information will be shared with registered families soon.

Little Red Reading Van

Students in Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 will participate in the Little Red Reading Van experience on May 14. This engaging literacy initiative promotes a love of reading through storytelling and interactive literacy activities. We are excited to welcome this opportunity to our school community.

Blessing of the Garden

Clarence Skip Wolfleg will be at Dalhousie on May 19 in the morning for the Blessing of the Garden with our students. This special event supports student connection to outdoor learning, community, and the natural environment.

Yellow Steps for Parents

We invite families to join our upcoming Yellow Steps Parent Session on May 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This outdoor learning experience will help families better understand the philosophy and benefits of place-based and outdoor education. Please dress appropriately for the weather as the session will take place outdoors.

Reminder: Access to the School Field During the Day

As a reminder, our school field and playground areas are reserved for students and staff during instructional hours. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and supervised learning environment for all students.
