Dear Escuela Dalhousie Families,
As we reach the end of another fantastic school year, I want to take a moment to thank our students, teachers, staff, families, and volunteers for making 2025–2026 such a memorable year at Escuela Dalhousie.
This year was filled with unforgettable experiences and so many reasons to celebrate! We unveiled our beautiful cultural mural, enjoyed our very first Family Movie Night, had a blast playing on our new GaGa Ball pits and playground games, danced and celebrated together at our Family Fiesta, ate record amounts of cotton candy, and watched our talented students shine at concerts, plays, and the ¡Qué Pasa! Gala.
We wrapped up the year with two of our favorite traditions. Sports Day brought perfect weather, enthusiastic participation, and plenty of smiles as students enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities. Thank you to our parent volunteers for making the day such a success and to our Parent Society for generously providing snacks for every student. ¡Muchas gracias for the freezies! The annual Grade 5 vs. Teachers Soccer Game once again proved to be a student favorite. Despite the absence of one of their star players, Sr. Fournier, a.k.a. El Muro, who was sidelined with a back injury, both teams delivered an outstanding performance that ended in a hard-fought tie.
As many of you know, this school year also marks the end of my journey as Principal of Escuela Dalhousie. While I am excited for what lies ahead, saying goodbye to this incredible community is not easy. The past three years have truly been some of the most rewarding and meaningful years of my career. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the Dalhousie family. Thank you for welcoming me to your school, for your kindness, and for allowing me the privilege of serving as your principal. Dalhousie will always hold a very special place in my heart, and I will cherish the memories we created together.
Gracias Dalhousie!
Sr. Fournier,
Director

Class Size Reduction Grant 2026-2027
We are pleased to announce that Dalhousie School has been allocated two additional teaching positions for the 2026–2027 school year through the Government of Alberta's Class Size Reduction Grant.
This funding is designed to support improved learning conditions in Grade 1 and Grade 2 by reducing class sizes and providing students with greater access to individualized instruction.
With this additional funding, students will benefit from:
- Increased teacher attention and individualized support
- Enhanced classroom learning environments
- Greater support for diverse learning needs
- More opportunities for meaningful student engagement
We are excited to welcome Sra. Navarrete to our Grade 1 team and Sra. Vargas to our Grade 2 team. These additional teaching positions will help us provide even stronger learning experiences and support for our students.
Staffing Updates
We are saying farewell to three valued members of the Dalhousie School staff. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication, commitment, and the positive impact they have had on our students. We wish them all the very best in their future endeavors and know they will continue to make a difference wherever their journeys take them.
- Srta. Primak
