Help Us Keep Supporting Our Students!
Our previous Chair and Vice-Chair have completed their terms, and we urgently need to fill these two roles so we can keep our fundraising and student supports running strong. If you've been looking for a way to give back to our school community, now is the perfect time to step in! ! As our chair, you’ll be the guiding voice, you’ll steer activities, champion our goals, and lead meetings as an impartial, non-voting guide. As our vice chair, you'll be a trusted partner to the Chair, review communications, and help our school community thrive. Please reach out to us at dalhousieschoolparentsociety@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like additional information. These roles need to be filled by Oct 8 so please don’t hesitate!
MyCBE Account
This year the CBE will be using SchoolEngage to complete some of the necessary yearly forms. In order to access SchoolEngage, you will require a MyCBE account. If you do not have a MyCBE account, on the MyCBE page click on Create a MyCBE Account. For online help refer, to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video). The forms found in SchoolEngage include: Demographic Verification 2026-27 and Annual Authorization 2026-27. If you plan to volunteer this school year, you can also fill out the Volunteer Registration Form. Please ensure that these forms are completed by September 14, 2026.
Volunteers
We are happy to welcome volunteers back to school! To ensure the safety and security of CBE students and staff, all volunteers must be registered with the school each school year before participating in volunteer activities.
The Annual Volunteer Registration Form is valid for the current school year only. All volunteers, including returning volunteers, must complete a new registration form each school year before participating in volunteer activities.
Process
Parents and guardians can register as volunteers through the SchoolEngage tab in their MyCBE account. As part of the registration process, all volunteers must review the POPA requirements and sign to indicate their agreement with the conditions outlined in the form.
New This Year: Community members who do not have a child registered with CBE must complete their volunteer registration in person at the school where they wish to volunteer. This change allows school staff to verify that volunteers have reviewed and acknowledged their privacy obligations under Alberta's Protection of Privacy Act (POPA).
SchoolMessenger
SchoolMessenger will be the means of communication between the school and our families. There are two types of messages that you will receive over the year – General and Commercial. In order to receive all of our messages, please ensure that you subscribe to both types of messages. Please visit the following link for further information: Subscribe to Receive School Messages
School Absences
Please remember to call the attendance line to let us know of your student’s absence – 403 777 6030 ext. 1. This not only helps us as we complete daily attendance but is also a security concern in the case of emergencies. Just a gentle reminder to keep your students home if they are not feeling well.
Healthy Hunger – Fun Lunch
Just a quick reminder that Fun Lunch orders for September 23 are due tonight at midnight.

Dalhousie School Council helps connect parents to the school and provides additional learning opportunities for all students. There are many ways to get involved that do not require you to hold a position on council. If you would like more information about getting connected or volunteer opportunities, please send an email to dalhousieschoolcouncil@gmail.com. The School Council and the Parent Society AGM will take place on September 16, 2026 at 6:30 pm. This will be a hybrid meeting.
