¡Buenas tardes familias de Dalhousie!
Spring Concert
I wanted to take a moment to extend a heartfelt thank you to every one of you who joined us for our spring concert this week. It was wonderful to see the community come together to celebrate the talents and hard work of our students. We hope you enjoyed the performances as much as we enjoyed presenting them to you.
Felicidades Escuela Dalhousie!
The Terry Fox Foundation has announced that Dalhousie School raised a total of $7 493.95 this past year, ranking us #12 in the “Top 50 Fundraisers of Alberta” in the Elementary division. Well done!
Thank you for your extraordinary effort and generosity Dalhousie!
Gymnastic Unit
From April 29 – May 16, 2024, students will be participating in a movement/Mission Impossible unit in physical education. Within all physical education units, students have opportunities to develop their skill level, share their accomplishments, and experience the satisfaction of teamwork in a safe and non-threatening atmosphere. For students to stay safe and have an enhanced learning experience, we ask that students follow the expectations listed below. We would like each student to review these guidelines with their parents as it will help them better understand the importance we place on safety.
Student Expectations:
- No jewelry, loose clothing, skirts or dresses should be worn during the unit
- Bare feet or gymnastics slippers can be worn on feet
- All long hair must be tied back or up
- Students will work independently or in small groups
- Students should work quietly as they practice movements as noise can distract others and may cause falls
- Children will only do what they are comfortable doing.
- Pyramid building is not an approved activity
- Students must land on their seat on the crash mat
- Although some students have had private gymnastics training, no aerial stunts such as dive rolls, somersaults, flips, head springs or handsprings are allowed as these do not fit into the curriculum.
Student safety is of the utmost importance at Dalhousie. Please review these expectations with your child.
