Spring Concert

Buenas tardes familias de Dalhousie,

This past week, we had the privilege of welcoming Clarence “Skip” Wolfleg Jr. to our school. His residency was an incredibly engaging and impactful experience for our students, deepening their understanding of Blackfoot culture and Indigenous perspectives. Through his stories, music, and teachings, Skip created meaningful connections with learners from Kindergarten to Grade 6, fostering respect, curiosity, and cultural appreciation across our school community. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to learn from him and for the lasting impact he has had on both our students and staff.

I would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all parents who attended our School Council and Parent Society meetings this week. It was wonderful to see one of our largest turnouts of parent participation. Your engagement and support make a meaningful difference in our school.

Looking ahead, a reminder that next week is Crazy Socks Day on April 15. Students are encouraged to wear their most fun and creative socks! Additionally, we are excited to host our first Movie Night at Dalhousie on April 16. We hope to see many of you there for a great evening together.

¡Cuídense y que tengan un excelente fin de semana!

Sebastien Fournier
Principal

Spring Concerts

Kindergarten and Grade 1 Students

We are pleased to share that our Grade 1 and Kindergarten concerts are coming up soon! This year, our youngest students will have their own special performances during the school day, separate from the older grades.

To accommodate both Morning and Afternoon Kindergarten classes, Grade 1 students will perform twice:

  • Wednesday, April 29 (10:30–11:30 AM)
with ALL grade 1s and AM Kindergarten (doors open at 10:15 AM)
  • Thursday, April 30 (2:30–3:30 PM)
with ALL grade 1s and PM Kindergarten (doors open at 2:15 PM)

Grade 1 families may choose which performance to attend. There are no attendance limits, so extended family members are welcome to join. While there are no costume requirements, we encourage students to dress in their fanciest clothes to make the occasion extra special. Families will also have an opportunity to take photos at the end of the concert.

Grade 2 to Grade 6 Concert

We are excited to share that our evening concert, titled “We Are Community: We Sing, We Play, We Belong,” will take place on 2 separate nights, April 29-30. The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:15 p.m.

Wednesday April 29 will feature the following classes:

·         Grade 3 – Srta. Sequeros

·         Grade 4 – Srta. Achang, Sra. Stewart

·         Grade 6 – Srta. Alvarado, Sra. Liendo, and Sr. Flores

Students participating in this concert will have a dress rehearsal earlier that day on Wednesday, April 29, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Doors will open at 1:45 p.m. for extended family members who wish to attend the dress rehearsal, as space during the evening performance is limited due to the gym’s maximum capacity.

Thursday, April 30, will feature the following classes:

·         Grade 2 – Sra. Canji

·         Grade 3 – Sra. Paredes, Sra. Montes

·         Grade 4 – Sra. Victoria
